The following work sought to explore the basic aspects of the development of thought around humor and how its bad reputation originated and led to the notion of its nature being inadequate to the Fine Arts throughout history. Through a thorough exploration of the state of the art around the subject, this basic research developed a fundamental context for future development in methodology for the analysis of humorous artistic practices.
